Who are we?

The ICCBA is an independent, professional association representing the interests of Counsel and Support Staff at the International Criminal Court.

Membership

Full Membership of the ICCBA is open to all lawyers admitted to the ICC List of Counsel or those who are eligible to practice before the ICC as independent defence or victims counsel. 

​

Associate Membership is open to individuals who are admitted to the ICC List of Assistants or those assigned as support staff to a case at the ICC and have at least five years of relevant experience in international criminal law. 

​

Affiliate Membership is open to individuals with demonstrable experience of international criminal law such as Professors of Law, ICC defence or victims support staff or counsel and support staff at other international, internationalized or hybrid courts of tribunals.

Representing Counsel and Support Staff at the International Criminal Court

The ICCBA serves as a collective voice for independent Counsel and Support Staff who represent victims, defendants and other actors (such as witnesses) before the ICC, provides a range of support and services to its membership, and acts as a forum for discussion on all matters pertaining to the ICC. It is the only recognised representative body of counsel at the ICC under Rule 20(3) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence.

ICCBA General Assembly and Elections 2024
